What this is
Macronomics is a meal planner and food diary that prices meals at Australian supermarket shelf prices. It is in beta: free while the beta runs, explicitly unfinished, and offered as-is. Features change, and the beta can be paused or closed. If it closes you will be told first, with time to ask for a copy of your data.
What the figures are
A price on Macronomics is a reading of a retailer’s listed shelf price on the date shown beside it. It is not a quote, an offer, or a promise of what you will pay. Retailers change prices; the date is there so you can judge how old a reading is.
A nutrition figure is a reading of the product’s own panel, and a per-serve or per-100 g figure is arithmetic on that reading and the pack size. Panels change and readings can be wrong; a caveat beside a product means we know something about that panel that you should too.
Nothing on Macronomics is nutrition, dietary or medical advice. The energy and macro targets it calculates are standard published estimates applied to the figures you enter. Talk to a professional before changing what you eat for a health reason.
Your account
You need to be at least 16 to hold an account. What you enter is yours; you give us only the licence needed to store it, show it to you, and — when you choose to share a recipe — show that recipe to whoever holds the link. Do not use the service to do anything unlawful, to load it in ways it is not built for, or to try to read anyone else’s data.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Macronomics is provided without warranty and we are not liable for loss arising from your use of it, including from a price or panel reading that turns out to be wrong. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be limited.
The rest
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. We may update them; the date at the top changes when we do, and continuing to use the service after a change is agreement to it. Questions go to hello@macronomics.dev. What happens to your data is on the privacy page.
